Pinterest

HELP – I’m on Pinterest and I’m having a hard time getting off! It is the most cosy waste of time I’ve ever seen. I LOVE it! If I’m not careful, I can sit for hours browsing others’ pins and repin them onto my own boards. I had considered making an account for about a year, but I am really considering what I register for. These days you can register for almost anything and it is not everything that is fantastic. But Pinterest is! So click the logo at the right, if you would like to follow my boards – and let me know if you would like an invitation.

Meeting My Penpal

Is it still called ”penpal” nowadays, although you write e-mails?

Well, for 12 years I’ve written with Laurel, who sells vintage jewellery. It all started with that I found her web shop and bought a jool from her. When son was six years old and rode his bicycle to school, I became very “mum-sorry”, because I thought my little boy rode out of my life. I needed a little “cheering up” and bought myself a jool (the cure for everything) at Laurel’s shop and wrote a few lines about being sorry. And now we have been writing together for TWELVE years! And a few weeks ago I finally met her in person. Here we are sitting in the sofa:

And here we are chatting at the balcony:
She was just as sweet, wonderful, charming and easy to talk with as I imagined. We talked and talked and talked until late in the evening and I wouldn’t leave. Especially not because I had this terrible feeling that perhaps we might never see each other again – I certainly hope we do! Here we are walking at the beach and waiting for the rocket to go off:

And I got gifts – the most beautiful, vintage green jools:

Thank you for being such a lovely person and dear friend! :)

Winter and US Nails

A week before I went to the US it snowed in Denmark, so I made these snowflake nails:
The dark blue is bought on a market in Italy in 1985, and it is still going strong. I think Essie’s “Aruba Blue” is much like it. And I’ve invested in both a black and a white special polish from Konad and they are really good.

Right before I went to the US I had to make US themed nails:
I had a plate with “Stars and Stribes” related things, so now I finally had an opportunity to use it. The polish is “Fashion Addict” from Color Club, a lovely rosy-purple holo-polish, which I thought would look great in the sunshine over there. My Konad decorated nails resulted in a great discount at the Konad shop in the Sawgrass Mills outlet – but more about that later. :)

Back to the Future

I’ve just been on a two week holiday in Florida, so this months will be a little about the US.

Son and I have been crazy about Back to the Future since it came in 1985 and when son was old enough to see it with me. We have seen it about a hundred times since and both of us know the lines before they are said. It is one of our favourite movies. Since son was 6 or 7 years old we have said that we wanted to sit in the Delorian that is the time machine in the movie. And it happened last week, that is, you are not allowed to sit in it anymore, but we met “Doc” whom we had a long chat with:

And of course we had the traditional photo taken with him:

But when we were about to go, he grabbed son and said: ”Come here son, I’ve got a good feeling for this”. And then they made the movie poster from the number two movie:
I LOVE that photo!

Here is the real poster for comparison:

It was really a lovely day and afterwards son almost danced with happiness.

My Favourite Cars

If money and space and sour husbands wasn’t a problem, I would invest in these beauties:

A hand built Morgan from the fifties:
And I could settle for the 4/4, although the V8-sound is the best. It should be Racing Green, have leather seats and a leather belt over the bonnet, a leather suitcase at the back and perhaps also a large black man’s umbrella:
But it always cost more than 100,000 dollars, sigh.

This one is within reach:
And such a tiny little Fiat 500 is easy to store. In fact you can get it with a shoulder strap so you don’t have to park it, you just take it over your shoulder. Last spring I almost bought one, but then Dear Husband (DH) turned into Sour Husband – wow, it was a tough job making him happy again. But he promised me to take care of my Opel GT till I parted with it some day, so that’s great.

A shiny, black gangster car should also be part of my collection:
It is SO elegant, and it would also become me when I’m old.

And my heart still beats for Little Nolte:
Although he is a rusty pot, he should be part of my collection. So tiny and sweet and charming. Our Little Nolte is dead many years ago, I’m sure.

What is your favourite car?
