Winter Nails

Here are what I've had on my nails since Christmas. A few winter themes, but not only snowflakes this year.

I simply had to try my custom stamping plate from FigTreeJewellery:

The stamps of son aged 18 and 3 are really great. He laughed out loudly when he saw them. The polish is OPI's Skislope Sweetie.

I've bought new plates with snowflakes, which I truly love. Here I have stamped with a cheap blue stamping polish upon a light blue polish without name from Essence:

I think it looks so lovely with many different snowflakes.

Here my custom plade is in use again. I've made a hero-theme with Modesty Blaise, my childhood heroine, and Indiana Jones, my all time hero:

I have reversed my hands, so my right had is mostly blue with Indy. The pink holo polish is Britta from MakeupStore and the blue is Siw, from the same brand.

Here I've tried the puzzle from MoYou, which I have wanted for long:

The silver polish is Gosh Holographic Hero, the most beautiful holographic polish ever. And I have laboriously painted some of the puzzle pieces red, green and blue with one of son's tiny Warhammer brushes. Quite a job, and not easy using my left hand, but I think it is OK.

Since it was long ago I've used tape, I thought I had to make a tape mani for a change. And then I could finally use some of my Nail Vinyls (the lightning on my ring finger):

The dark green polish is BeYu 449 and the purple glitter is OPI DS Temptation. Son called them Hulk-nails. I hadn't given it a thought that it is his colours.

I am not into Valentine's Day, which we don't celebrate in Denmark, but I did make some romantic nails:

I have stamped the hearts with MoYou and the kiss is from a Konad plate. The pink polish is Misa Fleeting Hibiscus and the red one is an old OPI mini without name.

I found the snowmen years ago on Pinterest, and this winter I finally remembered to try them:

They are made with a dotting tool, very easy. The carrot nose is just dragged a little, and it is OK it is not straight, because no carrots are. The white polish is Bleech Babe (my favourite white) from Sally Hansen.

Since I really like grey polishes, I thought OPI's Fifty Shades mini collection was a good buy:

And I had to try on all six colours at the same time:

We start with the thumb which is Dark side of the Mood, then it is Embrace the Grey, Cement the Deal, Romantically Involved, and My Silk Tie. All two layers, but could have used three. The glitter polish, Shine for Me, is used as French tips.

Christmas Nails

Oops, I had a little Christmas vacation from the blog, but I doubt anybody noticed. I've been thinking about my blog lately. I don't get many new readers neither comments. I don't know if I write too different topics, too boring, too predictable, or if you don't want to see my nails or my scannings of vintage ALT for Damerne. I love Instagram, it is quick and easy to update and follow, and I've got a lot followers. But until now I've decided to keep my blog, so here are my Christmas nails for December:

But let's start with my Marilyn Monroe nails, stamped with my new MoYou plates:

The nude polish is from Oriflame. I've added a little gold glitter, because nude is too boring for me.

My birthday nails, stamped with Bundle Monster Holiday Collection upon Ciaté Spending Spree, my favourite duochrome polish:

My first Christmas nails:

A gradient with red and green glitter upon Sally Hansen's Bleech Babe.

Here I have stamped holly leaves upon a cheap gold polish from the super market and added small red rhinestones as berries:

I really loved this manicure and got over 20 likes at Instagram, which has never happened before.

Stribed glitter gift wrapping paper:

All three polishes are from ColorClub, my favourite polish brand.

And the last Christmas manicure, Rudolph stamped with Bundle Monster Holiday Collection upon a cheap gold polish from the super market and red rhinestones as his nose:

The red polish is ColorClub's Ruby Slippers, my favourite red polish.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas. I did. Santa came and although my sister's twins now are nine years old, they still look perplexed at him:

I was SO surprised and HAPPY! I got this completely luxurious beauty box from Estee Lauder full of lovely makeup. I must have been very nice this year.

The Christmas Gift for Myself

You should give yourself Christmas gifts, so you get what you really want! :) And when I give myself a Christmas gift it is usually something special, and that is exactly what it is this year - a custom made nail stamping plate with my own motifs from FigTreeJewellery:

Here is the picture she sent me for my approval. The rulers at the sides are smart, because you can scale your screen to actual size and check if the motifs fit your nails.

I thought for long what to have on my own plate. My car and my son of course, but since there were room for six motifs I had to come up with some more. I ended choosing my hero, Indiana Jones, and my childhood heroine, Modesty Blaise. Here is the finished plate with her tests:

If you want her to make photos to stamping motifs it costs about 8 dollars extra per photo, and it is definately worth it. Here is the photo of son three years old, I sent her:

And here is son 18 years old:

So my plate cost me about 40 dollars, and I think I will be back and order another one when I have figured out which motifs I miss.

Halloween Nails and MoYou

I thought I'd better show you my Halloween nails before it's Christmas:

The orange is Gosh Funky Orange (old favourite), the grey is OPI Skull and Glossbones and the duo chrome on my ringfinger is from Sally Hansen. I have stamped with Konad, fauxnad and BundleMonster plates

Graveyard theme:

Again made with OPI Skull and Glossbones and a fauxnad plate.

A cheapie orange from La Femme, which I never have tried and a glow-in-the-dark from OPI:

Stamped with a Halloween MoYou plate.

And btw MoYou, I have invested in two more plates from the brand:

Plate number 14 has the puzzle I have searched for for years.

And then this cartoon plate caught my eye:

What do you think caught my eye? Exactly, Marilyn Monroe in the upper right corner. But it's Marilyn! I simply HAD to own it. It will be fabulous to have nails with Marilyn! The rest of the plate is great too, especially the Lichtenstein face at the upper left.

Late Summer and Autumn Nails

This is the last late summer and first autumn nails in one post.

I really loved the strawberry nails:

Very easy to make. I pulled the green polish with a dotting tool and added long black dots with one of son's Warhammer brushes. The red polish is an old OPI mini without a name.

And here is my first ombra:

Made of all the pink polishes I never use. I was so fond of it that I definately will make it again. Very easy, when you don't have to mix the colours for the ombra.

And the Kiss Kermit manicure from our nail night, which I fell in love with and had to do on my own nails:

The green polish is Inglot 319.

Here I had to test an OPI set I bought for some gift cards:

The set is made of OPI Kermit Me to Speak (a fantastic duochrome plum purple) and the glitter polish named Gaining Mole-Mentum.

And I used the rest of the gift cards to buy Ciaté's nice autumn house with lovely mini polishes:

You can see all the colours at Eva's blog. The green is Tickle my fancy, the red is Can Can and the blue is Knee Highs.

Here is the first real autumn nails:

I've stamped leaves, acorns, and pumpkins upon a cheapie from the supermarket.

The next week I stamped lots of leaves, since I liked the motif so much:

The green polish is Models Own Beetle Juice Golden Green, and a new bronze polish also from Models Own Bronze Rage.

The blue duochrome is also from the Models Own Beetle Juice collection, namely Aqua Violet:

Upon it I have used Models Own Northern Lights as a drip manicure.

Nail Night 5.0

In the middle of August it was time for another nail night with me female colleagues. It has fortunately become a cosy tradition. And with my Partner in Crime it is easy to make nice nails on all of them in one night. We decided to do it a little different this time, with pre-made themes, which we had given names that were not easy to guess: Kiss Kermit, Niagara, FlowerPower, Ladybugs and Summer.

Previously, we have laid a lot of things on the table for inspiration, but since it takes such a long time for them to decide and since they are not that willing to try something new, we thought it was time for them to try something new. I had made stickers with the theme names and put them under the coasters, so we didn't know who got which theme. Here are the colours we used for all the manicures lined up on a tray:

We talked and laughed and had such a cosy time - and some studied the process intensively:

We also talked about some serious subjects:

Hanne had some spare time, so she offered to help me. So she put SIXTY black rhinestones in my ladybug manicure:

When I got the idea of the black rhinestones, I didn't gave it a thought that it was SO many.

Hanne and I met the day before to finetune the themes, find the polishes and tools we needed for the manicures and for once I got my nails done:

Hanne made newspaper nails on my nails, and I LOVED them all week. Thank you so much, dear. :)

And thanks for a really lovely night to all my great colleagues. We'll definately do it again.

Summer Nails

I've collected my summer nails for you in this post, but we start with my Easter nails, which I didn't like that much:

The light yellow is Sally Hansen's Go Bananas, which I have stamped with my new Bundle Monster Holiday Collection stamping plates. I just don't think it looks much like Easter egs, and my tape-chicken is not very good either - ough. Well, the good thing is that it is easy to remove. ;)

I am playing with stereotypes, that is styles many loves but which I never wear myself, e.g. flowers, red and pink. Here I have stamped roses on top of Misa's Fleeting Hibiscus:

It was not bad at all.

Back to my favourite colour, green - here R de L's Precious Metal:

The polish is a gift from a dear colleague, which I have dotted flowers onto, very easy.

I had bought some new tape which I wanted to try. I made this holographic texture manicure:

The holographic polish is my favourite from MakeupStore named Siw and the texture is IsaDora's Ocean Crush. I have added a matching rhinestone on each nail.

Summer calls for holo polishes, because they are so beautiful in the sunshine:

An old orange polish from Gosh Funky Orange:

I'm not especially fond of orange, but this one looks so lovely in the sunshine. I've made a simple dotted pattern with red on top of it.

Here I've done my nails at my summer cottage and painted them with the only polish I have there, a really boring light pink shimmer polish. I spiced it up with turquoise checks when I came home:

The turquoise is Sally Hansen's Blue Me Away.

Another stereotype, pink nails, which I never wear anymore:

But I did love these. The polish is L'Oreals Shocking Pink, which I would never have called it. I have dotted simple flowers at the tips. I think I will make these again one day.

And the last stereotype for now - butterfly nails:

I love the mint green colour, which is from Oriflame named Mint Pear, but the butterflies do not impress me. The one at my ring finger is good, but the others are just annoying.
