I am cheating on my husband ...
when I'm home alone!!!
There I got your attention for sure! :)
I am, but the thing I'm sneaking to do when I' m home alone in January and February is to listen to vintage Christmas music! I miss it SO much! I can't help it - I simply have to have more of those romantic tunes from Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Bing Crossby, Doris Day, etc. etc. And if I finally got caught I'm sure dear husband would grin broadly and shake his head. He knows I'm Christmas Crazy.
I have lots of vintage Christmas music, both on modern CD's and also on vintage vinyl, here is a lovely LP with Santa's face all over. The music is Bing Crosby but the record is so scratched that it can hardly play. I just use it for decoration.

My New Library
I have invested some of my bonus in an e-book reader:
Nope, not a Kindle. This was inexpensive and according to the technical specifications it can what I need. I have wanted an e-book reader for long, but they have been too expensive and I also had to have some extra money to spend. I LOVE books so it will never replace my real library, but it is a great alternative. Especially when reading so many English books as I do, and I also have lots of old classics to look forward to – they are often free due to their age.
It has 4 Gb internal memory which is about 4,000 books – so I think that’ll do for a couple of days.

Valentine’s Day
Is not something we celebrate at our house. Son and I introduced Halloween in 2001, because we needed some decorations and cosiness during Autumn. We had a great time each evening for a week making a lot of home made decorations. Many Danes think we are silly – they think it is very American. That’s how I feel about Valentine’s Day – if you love somebody you should tell them every day, not only on 14 February.
Monday, DH came home with a bag full of Valentine’s gifts for me:
He had visited the local “dollar store”, because he knows I love MANY gifts.
I got (from left): a box full of bathing goodies with a lovely old fashioned rose scent, nice socks with glittering stars, a red heart shaped alarm clock, a snow globe in which I was told to put a photo of him, love tape (I’ve never seen such before), and kiss magnets for the fridge.
I think I will reconsider introducing Valentine’s Day! :)

Buy of the Year 2010
Buy of the Year 2010 must be my vintage Pyrex measuring can which I found at our local flea market in the Spring of 2010. I think I paid 1 dollar for it. I was a little in doubt if it was vintage or not, because it is so timeless that it is almost modern. But while I walked around with it, a pair of elderly ladies said: “Look a vintage Pyrex!”.
It is perfect! Perfect size, because measuring cans are always too big or too small. This is half a litre and there are also American measures at the other side. And it goes right into the microwave oven when I make home made café latte.

Girlie Spending
I love Oriflame! I've been a member since my mum gave me the membership as a Christmas gift, when I was just turned 14. I remember I got a big beauty case full of different goodies. It was fabulous. And I still get tempted by their catalogues. I have to admit that I'm not sure if Oriflame sell their products as a club in other countries than Denmark, but I know they sell in a lot of countries around the world.
Last Friday I was to an x-ray control and was told my leg heals perfectly. I had to celebrate! And very convenient the new catalogue from Oriflame had arrived when I came home. Yep, I have no problem finding an excuse for pampering myself. Here is what ended in the "basket":
A little pink torch (4.5 dollars), you cannot live without it:
A bottle of pink Spring perfume for about 12 dollars:
It smelled nice on the paper, but I don't think I go completely wrong with it.
And matching lovely shaped soaps - I love soaps:
They will look nice at my clam shaped bathroom zink. One day I have to show you my bathroom.
A pink glitter lipgloss:
I'm addicted to lipgloss.
A red "tripple core" lipstick with a heart shaped core:
I couldn't resist! And just like shoes, you can NEVER get too many red lipsticks! :)
A big bottle of marzipan scented bubble bath for about 7 dollars:
I love a perfumed bath in my beautiful bathtub, and have promised myself when I get my leg bandage off and gain my mobility back, I will enjoy an long bath listening to Nat King Cole - ahhh!
