ALT for Damerne, 1955, No. 36

I've scanned from ALT for Damerne (Everything for the Ladies), number 36, 1955 for you. It is the first magazine published in September 1955. Remember that all scans can be clicked into larger formats. Although it is a Danish magazine, I hope my foreign readers will have fun reading my small recaps and get inspiration from the photos.

This time a handy teenage girl has made an old chair into both a stool and a mirror for her vanity table (back then it was a must to have a vanity table, and I would not do without mine too). There is a tip on how to modernize your old-fashioned candle holders with black paint and there is a nice home made sign saying "we are in the garden". You can buy those premade today.

On to the big "Dressed from top to toe" competetion, which is also mentioned at the cover:

  1. Very interesting mix of topics and images. What a stark, to the point title regarding seeking help (which, of course, one always should) if you're in a really dark spot in your life/state of mental health. We'd never see one quite that blunt nowadays, but, you know, maybe it would be a good thing if we did. What's the point in tip-toeing around something as incredibly important as one's own life?

I always adore when you share vintage magazine pages with us, dear Sanne. Thank you very much for doing so again this month.

    1. That was my thought too, and therefore I scanned it. I like to compare the past to our present. Why not say it as it is? You're welcome, I'm glad you like them, although you don't understand the text. :)
